Why CODAME?

In an increasingly digital world, the intersection of art and technology has become a fascinating playground for creativity. The CODAME ART+TECH Festival is more than just an event—it's a movement designed to bridge the gap between artists and technologists, encouraging collaboration and innovation. Now that I've moved to Milan, it felt like the perfect place to expand CODAME’s vision, blending the city’s rich cultural tradition with its growing tech scene. Milan, a global hub for fashion, art, and design, offers the perfect backdrop for fostering creative energy, making it a natural choice for the festival’s next step.

A Bit of History

CODAME began in San Francisco, a city renowned for its technological innovation and vibrant art scene. Since its inception, the festival has brought together some of the brightest minds in both fields, blending cutting-edge tech with artistic expression. As I transitioned to life in Milan, it was clear that this city was ready to host the ART+TECH Festival, continuing the tradition of cross-cultural collaboration.

What’s Coming Up?

This October, CODAME ART+TECH Festival 2024 in Milan will host a series of exciting events exploring the intersection of art and technology. Here’s what’s on the calendar:

• October 3rd: Is this Art?

  The festival kicks off with an Experiential Dialog to explore the fundamental question, “Is this art?” followed by MatchBox Speed Dating—a unique opportunity for artists and technologists to meet and collaborate. As always, BYOB (Bring Your Own Beamer) will give attendees the chance to showcase their digital art.

• October 25th: Are you connected?

  This event will feature an Experiential Dialog on connection in the digital age, along with MatchBox Presentations showcasing projects born from our collaborations. Attendees can once again bring their art to share in our BYOB segment.

• October 31st: Are you smarter than me?

  Halloween is for more than just costumes! This night will feature an Experiential Dialog around intelligence in the digital world, a MatchBox Show, and BYOB. To wrap it up, we’ll celebrate with live music and a costume party!

Connecting San Francisco and Milan

This festival is a tangible bridge between San Francisco, where CODAME was born, and Milan, my new home. It’s more than just a series of events—it’s an opportunity to foster global connections through creativity, art, and technology. We hope CODAME ART+TECH Festival will inspire other cities to join in the future, building a worldwide network of collaborative innovation.
